CYTECH TECHNICAL ONE - Theory & PRactical

Technical One is the foundation of all the Cytech courses, and covers the minimum industry standards to which all professional bicycle mechanics should be working. It is a pre-requisite for all other Cytech courses.

How long is the course?

Technical One is comprised of:

  • Cytech Technical One - Theory: an online course that can be completed from home, at your own pace. Once you register, you will have 60 days to complete the course. It ought to be completed before attending the Practical course. You can enrol into the theory course directly with Cytech, via the links below:

  • Cytech Technical One - Practical: a two day face-to-face course delivered at one of our workshops.

To gain the full Cytech technical one qualification, both the Cytech Technical One - Theory and Practical modules need to be completed.

What does this course include?

Technical One covers the following topics:

  • Health & safety

  • Workshop practices including torque wrench use, greases and lubricants;

  • Australian and New Zealand product standards and consumer protections;

  • Adjustment, set-up & frame alignment

  • Tyres & tubes

  • Pre-delivery inspection

ASSESSMENT ONLY OPTION - COMING SOON

For those who already have some experience, we are planning to offer an assessment only option to fast track progress through Technical One, allowing you to enroll directly into other courses. We hope to launch this in the second half of 2025.
